Teasers

Are you looking to try out sports betting Teasers? Look no further than our guide below to understand how they work when placing bets and find out how to maximize your payouts.

A Teaser bet is a variation of a parlay that allows you to adjust the point Spread or the Over/Under to improve the chances of a successful bet. What’s the catch? Multiple bets need to be tied together as part of the Teaser, and they all need to win. We explain this and other elements of Teaser betting in more detail below.

Understanding Teaser Betting

A teaser is a type of parlay that allows you to adjust the point spread or total in your favor at the cost of a lower payout. This is also referred to as “teasing” the line, which is where this type of bet gets its name.

How Teaser Betting works?

Let’s say you think that the Nets, Warriors and Hawks will each cover the spread in their respective games, but you want to “buff” the odds in your favor a little to ensure a win. In this case, you’d want to build a teaser.

  1. Click into each of the upcoming games, and add the mainline point spread for each team to your betslip.
  2. Open the Betslip and tap into the Teaser tab to review your selections.
  3. Say you want to decrease how many points each team needs to cover the spread by, let’s say by 4.0 points. Use the points picker to buy 4.0 points.
  4. Once chosen, you can see how this affects the spread and odds for your 3 picks right in your betslip.
  5. Enter a wager amount and click Place Bet.
  6. Click My Bets to follow the action.

How to Place a Teaser Bet?

  1. Choose Your Game: Click into any football or basketball game.
  2. Build Your Teaser: Add the mainline point spread or total for the team you’d like to bet on to your betslip. Repeat Step 1 to add more selections from eligible games. Remember, you cannot tease multiple selections from the same game!
  3. Review Your Picks: Open the Betslip and navigate to the Teaser tab to review your selections.
  4. Browse Available Lines: Using the points picker, browse the points available to buy and see how they impact the total odds of your teaser bet.
  5. See Your New Odds: Select the amount of points you want to buy and watch your betslip update in real-time!
  6. Place Your Bet: Enter a wager amount in the Bet field and click Place Bet.
  7. Track Your Teaser: Click into My Bets to track your progress. Pending teasers will appear in the Open tab and move over to the Settled tab after being graded.

Teaser Betting Markets

Similar to parlays, at least two or more eligible selections must be added to your betslip in order to place a teaser bet. Unlike parlays however, only the mainline point spread and total markets on any football and basketball game will be eligible to be teased.

When building a teaser, the number of points available to buy will depend on the sport. For football teasers, anywhere from 3.0 -> 10.0 points will be available to buy, and for basketball, anywhere from 3.0 -> 8.0 points will be available to buy, depending on the availability of alternate lines.

You can even build a football and basketball teaser on your betslip at the same time, but it should be noted that cross-sport teasers will not be permitted (cannot combine a football and basketball point spread in a single teaser).

To make the process of building teasers easier for you, ineligible selections will be filtered out of the teasers tab, and football and basketball selections will be grouped into their own sections on the teaser tab.

Please note that we only offer the option to buy points, not sell.

Teaser bets will not be eligible on live games. If a game goes live after it’s been added to your betslip, you will be instructed to remove all corresponding in-play selections before being able to proceed. Alternate lines will also not be eligible for teasers.

It is also important to note that selections from the same game will not be eligible to be teased, meaning you cannot combine the point spread and total from the same game in a single teaser. If you would like to place a Parlay+ bet (same game parlay), please use the parlay+ tab of the betslip.

How Are Teaser Bets Calculated?

If you’ve created a parlay before, Teaser bets are easy to figure out. They are calculated by adjusting the point spread or totals in each game by a certain number of points. This adjusted value is then known as the Teaser line. Remember: the more teams and points you involve in your Teaser, the lower your potential payout will be.

Payouts

Teaser bets have lower chances of occurring since a single leg failing can result in the entire Teaser losing. Also, adding more bets under your Teaser can result in lower eventual payouts. Payouts are available to players, like simple bet winnings.
